cbdMD Review

I have used CBD oil and it has changed my life for the better in less than six months of dedicated usage to the oil. I use the brand endorsed by Olympic athlete Lolo Jones called cbdMD. As a half marathon runner every year, I needed something that will offer pain relief and comfort. I also needed something that would soothe and rejuvenate my joints and tendons after running sometimes up to 50 miles per week. I found all that and more with cbdMD oils. I was a little skeptical at first but when I found out that their products are THC free it put my mind at ease.

I am a big fan of using their 30ml bottle of oil in a dosage of 750 mg. Its earthy taste is not overpowering to me at all. I always choose the berry flavor as it compliments my smoothie regiment in the mornings and the evenings. You cannot beat the flavor and it works by giving an energy boost and at the same time calming my nerves before or after a race has commenced. You need to try this brand if you are a serious athlete looking for a natural way to improve your lifestyle.

Bluebird Botanicals CBD Review

Signature 6x Full Spectrum

This company has been around since 2012. It was the first company I bought from when I started Bark Avenue Hemp Treats, a CBD dog treat manufacturing company in Colorado. I purchased wholesale from them for a good amount of time. All their full spectrum tinctures have all be very effective. I’ve seen this industry mature and change, just like their tinctures. But their quality has always been very consistent throughout the growth and sophistication of the industry.

I used to buy their Signature 6x Full Spectrum oil because I preferred something that was more concentrated. A little goes a long way. Mainly, so as not to endure the ill-tasting flavors that all tinctures possess. Plus, I didn’t want my dogs to have to endure this in the CBD dog treat recipes as well.

Their full spectrum products are the way to go because this is a whole plant extract that includes ALL the cannabionoids and not just the CBD’s. This way you get the full benefit of the “Entourage Effect”

This company has a soft spot in my heart due to us almost starting together and growing together. Buyers will not be disappointed with the consistency of their quality and choice of CBD strain.

Signature Hemp Extract

CBD oil helps curb my cravings for marijuana and helps me stay focused. Starting in college, I started self-medicating with daily marijuana use. I found many unconventional benefits from this and found it to be beneficial when studying, socializing, and more. However, this was not without its disadvantages, especially long-term.

A few years ago I started to take CBD oil more seriously. It took me a while to really feel and comprehend the effects, and each brand seems slightly different. The benefits I find from CBD oil are decreased anxiety, a clearer head, moderately increased focus, and an increase in general well being. I now actively promote CBD oil to everyone as an anti-anxiety supplement. I am a huge proponent of its effects and potential to improve peoples’ lives.

I have tried a few different brands, and am still relatively new to using CBD oil. I was skeptical about it for a long time until I really understood what it felt like.

I started with Signature Hemp Extract (500+ mg cannabinoids per 60 mL bottle, 4.2+ mg per serving) from Bluebird Botanicals, an online store that I would recommend for decently priced, good value CBD.

I also tried CBD flower from a website called Calypso, and ordered oil from there as well. The Calypso oil has 1,000mg CBD in a 30 mL bottle (33mg per serving), and it’s very high quality.

Lastly, I am a huge fan of online retailer Charlotte’s Web hemp extract with olive oil. This one comes in a 30 mL bottle and advertises 17 mg of cannabinoids per 1 mL.

Pure Hemp Botanicals CBD Review

Out of all the products of Pure Hemp Botanicals, I buy the softgels. The full spectrum softgels and not the isolate formula. Being a retired chef from the Culinary Institute of America, I am very sensitive to ill-tasting flavors. Even the flavored tinctures that I can detect a hint of underlying, ill-tasting undertones. Sometimes these flavored ones are even worse tasting than the natural unflavored versions. With the softgels, it just goes right now smoothly with no unpleasant taste. I would take these if I needed a good night’s rest or if I needed to bring my blood pressure down from a stressful day.

I have tried almost all their products down to the teas. I purchased a wide variety of their ready-made product and samples for re-sale. This is a unique perspective on a review since I am a CBD dog treat manufacturer and I vet my suppliers well. I did a facility tour with this company. They are reputable, solid and care about quality and compliance as much as I do. They are a vertically integrated manufacturing who does complete seed to sale, including lab testing. I have turned on several of my friends to this company because their full spectrum products work and I know from direct experience, that they are a solid company.

Bark Avenue CBD Hemp Treats Review

My dog Noah has been my constant companion for 12 years. In January of 2017 he had become very unstable and wobbly on his feet. In February he was diagnosed with either doggy ALS or a brain tumor. He was in pain and I was desperate to do anything to relieve his agony. I was not going to subject him to chemo, MRI’s or CAT scans. I accepted what he was going to be like on pharmaceuticals. They made him even more unstable, glassy eyed and tired.

I became interested in utilizing it as a remedy for dogs via a CBD news special. I researched every resource possible and started Noah on Bark Avenue Hemp biscuits sometime in April. Since then he is doing great. While he is still on some other meds, he only takes them at night and thus he no longer has that glazed look in his eyes and a spring back in his step. Thank you, team Bark Avenue Hemp Treats. They went above and beyond a call of duty when I was headed out of town.

They are genuine and sincere. With their continued support I am confident that Noah can continue to gracefully endure old age.

Hemp King CBD Review

This product is the fifth CBD oil brand I’ve tested over the past three years, and it’s the most successful yet. I wasn’t too excited to get it because none had given me optimal relief before. Still, this product has beaten my expectations, and I’m beginning to notice the other CBD oil benefits that I didn’t see in the previous brands. Top it off; it isn’t so expensive!

I ‘m struggling with painful Arthritis in my hands, which often interferes with my sleep. In the past, I’ve tried different ways to ease the discomfort, including copper bracelets. In just a few drops under the tongue, I’ll soon start receiving instant relief. Although it hasn’t completely removed the pain, I get a lot of comforts, it helped me to sleep better, and I don’t have to use extra pain relievers.

Apart from its little nutty flavor, which can be subdued with crackers, getting used to it was easy enough. I ‘m hoping to have another one for my husband who’s had occasional back pains, hopefully getting as much relief as I am. You won’t be sorry you got a highly recommended product!

Hemp King Hemp Oil Drops

Bryant N.

I suffered from unexplained recurring pain in my upper neck and back for two years that I am almost convinced constant stress caused the whole crisis. My muscles had forgotten how to relax, and I could not get a goodnight’s sleep whatsoever. Occasionally, I might get relief for a week, but the pain still came back as soon as the week was up.

I’ve had the CBD oil for a month now. I use it twice a day, in the mornings before work and at bedtime to help me relax, this has changed my life beautifully. My pain level is lower, and I have lower anxiety. My mood is excellent; my sleep is excellent, even my hair, my nails, and my skin look fantastic.

It just took five days for the pain to stop! I wanted to reduce my dosage twice a day to a tablespoon, but the discomfort came back mildly. When I switched to the tablespoon dose twice a day, the pain subsided again. You may get too sleepy on a high dosage at first, but once you’re used to taking it, you should increase your dose.

PureKana CBD Review

Vanilla CBD Oil 1000mg

After trying a few different brands of CBD oil, I purchased the PureKana CBD oil. I purchased it online; shipping was quick and there was no problem with the orders. It was one of the more costly CBD oils that I’ve tried, however it was also much more potent than other low-cost brands. I was looking for a high quality, high-potency CBD oil that would effectively help me manage pain and sleep. I was willing to spend a bit more money in order to get a quality product—for the most part, that is what I got. Compared to other brands, a little goes a long way with this product, so it was worth the investment.

This oil contains a small amount of THC (less than 0.3%), which may complicate buyers living in certain states. I believe this addition of THC can enhance the medicinal qualities of the CBD and make the tincture overall more effective. Although at first I was a bit weary of the effects of THC (as I was only seeking pain management, not a “psychoactive experience”, out of my CBD oil), I soon realized that there were no notable effects from the THC. What I like most about this product is the taste—its natural vanilla flavoring effectively masks the flavor of the hemp (which is my least favorite part about using CBD oils). Overall, it is a good option for someone willing to spend more money in order to attain a higher quality product.

1500mg CBD Oil

I am a 49 year old woman from Washington, D.C. who was diagnosed in 2003 with pelvic dysfunction and five herniated disks in my lumbar spine. I lived in pain daily where at times I wasn’t even able to get out of bed. I went to various physical therapy practices which told me to contact my primary doctor to increase medications, I even had one tell me they couldn’t help me and that I would probably just have to live with it. I finally decided enough was enough and then did some research and found a marvelous holistic practice that offered alternatives and specialized in what I eventually found out I needed. At my first appointment the doctor reviewed my chart and said I understand what you’re dealing with and want you to try CBD oils. She shared the benefits with me and we created a health plan regime that got us on the road to feeling better about myself and gave my life back. I currently use 1500 mg of CBD oil per day which has been great. Within dates I was able to see a difference and I’m a firm believer and supporter of CBD.

Pure Kana CBD Oil 1000mg

I use CBD Oil Pura Kanabrand 1000mg every night before going to sleep. I purchase the oil from their website. CBD oil has helped my insomnia a great deal. I don’t have problems falling asleep and I sleep through the night. If I do wake up in the middle of the night I go right back to sleep. Once I started with this CBD I regained my dreams while sleeping. I had forgotten they existed for like 10 years or something because I just didn’t have memorable dreams. They came back within a day or two of CBD use. I’m tickled that I stumbled upon CBD as such a small tablet has fixed so many things, chronic pain, anxiety, short temper, and my sleep issues. I wake up great fully relaxed and I am ready to go the next day. Some nights when I am having a difficult time falling asleep CBD works great for me and helps me fall asleep quick.

NuLeaf Naturals CBD Review

The type of CBD oil that I currently use is a tincture from Tweedle Farms, I purchased it directly from their website. It is full spectrum and in a 500 mg bottle with 460 mg of CBD, 16 mg of THC, and 98 mg of minor cannabinoids. The taste is mild yet potent, the dosage that I consume is 25 mg of CBD, taken two to three times a day.

NuLeaf Naturals is a brand that I have also tried. They are pricier than Tweedle Farms as their CBD oil is organic. I purchased their 240 mg full spectrum oil directly from their website. Their .17 oz bottle (5 ml) contains 240 mg of CBD. My dosage was lower with NuLeaf Naturals, I would take 5 to 10 mg, two to three times a day.

The formula of NuLeaf Naturals has a more intense flavor profile than Tweedle Farms, the taste is quite strong, though not in any way unpleasant. CBD oil has greatly improved my health and lifestyle, it has reduced my anxiety and helps to lull me asleep during bedtime. As soon as my anxiety has eased, I am able to focus, start and complete tasks, plan effectively, run errands without procrastinating, and allows me to nurture my creative side. CBD has had a profound effect on the quality of my life.

Creating Better Days CBD Review

Hello, my name is Renee England. I am 27 years old and have tried a handful of different CBD brands. To begin with, I bought 1000 mg of CBD oil from a company called Appalachian Cannabis Company, This CBD seemed very weak, the taste of coconut oil was more apparent than any other brand I have used. Years later I became employed at a local vape shop that sells a brand called Creating Better Days. Before I found this brand, I lost faith in the idea that CBD could help me. I was gifted a bottle of Creating Better Days 1000 mg and it changed my entire perspective. My anxiety decreased immediately and the effects lasted for two hours. My friend uses this brand for her son, who has severe autism. She followed a particular dosing schedule and her son began talking and exploring new environments within a month. The same brand She and I used, was sold to the customers at the vape shop. I had the honor of helping people with Parkinson’s Disease find immediate relief. When they would come into the store incapable of functioning, I would place three to four drops of CBD under their tongue and watch the tremors disappear within a minute. It was truly a rewarding experience to see the relief wash over them. CBD may not play a huge role in my life but for many people around me, it is vital. Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience.

Cannafyl CBD Review

The truth is that at first, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this brand, especially since it was the first time I would be trying CBD as a remedy. As I’ve stopped exercising for a while, I soon realized that some of my joints were aching. I do not have any underlying health issues, but with the pain on my joints, things were not as easy as it used to be for me. When CBD oil was recommended to me, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I did a quick check online and found the Cannafyl CBD oil. I decided to give it a try. Despite being hopeful that it will work, I can’t deny that I was cautious. It worked like magic. I’m glad to say that after a month, I haven’t felt any pain again. I honestly can’t tell how it worked, but I don’t care either. I’m just happy that I feel better now. I don’t know whether it’s because of the company’s guarantee that I bought this product, or because I was just desperate for a cure. I’m glad I made this decision.

Select CBD Review

In my personal experience, CBD oil and creams have drastically improved my quality of life. As a person who suffers from anxiety, depression and mood swings, CBD use has helped me live normally each day, and has improved my quality of sleep immensely. Currently, I am using Select CBD drops in 1000mg. I prefer the lavender flavor and use one full dropper under my tongue in the morning and in the evening. An immediate benefit from these drops is my mood. I no longer have random bouts of bad moods during the day, and generally keep a pretty leveled and stable attitude. Secondly, my anxious tendencies are reduced throughout the day with the use of this product. I feel calm, and this allows me to be more productive in my daily life. Another product that I’ve used from this brand is the 250mg CBD muscle rub. This has been great for post-workout and long-term injury care. I’m inclined to use these products over drugstore brands because I prefer the natural, organic ingredients. Since starting the use of these products, I’ve seen a great improvement in my own daily life and productivity. I would recommend these products to anyone who is looking for a more natural way to control their imbalances.

CBDPure Review

CBDPure hemp oil was the first CBD product I tried. Now an avid CBD user, I started using CBD for pain management around 2016, before CBD products became widely available in stores. As I could not find the product locally in stores, CBDPure’s products were an easily accessible online option. I was interested in trying CBD oil (because I could easily vary the dose using drops), and upon doing some research, CBDPure seemed like the perfect beginner CBD product. Firstly, their oil offerings ranged in both price and potency. Given that CBD products are notoriously pricey, I wanted an affordable option to test out CBD. There were many other brands available, but at higher prices—I did not want to risk a lot of money on a product I had never tried before. I chose the lowest cost option, which also came at a lower potency. For someone who needed a mild potency for light pain or relaxation, this is a great option. However, I was looking for a stronger effectiveness out of the CBD oil, so I had to take larger dosages to get the desired effect. Hence why I eventually purchased a higher potency CBD oil down the line.

What I also liked about CBDPure is the high quality of the product—the CBD oil was rich in color (which is a sign of a high quality hemp oil), pure, and made from organic ingredients. Having a high-quality, natural CBD oil was important to me, which is why I chose CBDPure. CBDPure also uses independent labs to quality check their products, another important thing to look for in CBD brands. The only downside to this product is the taste. Because it is an oil, the natural hemp taste is apparent, which took a while for me to get used to. Overall CBDPure is a quality brand. Because of its’ product variety, it is able to offer a range of potency and cost options, which makes it perfect for fist-time CBD users.

Owe Uself CBD Review

My best friend and I have both taken this oil and we absolutely love it. On her account, she added it to her hot chocolate to soothe her menstrual cramps. Within roughly 15 minutes she felt a relief and soothing of the sincere pain. It was such a huge help to her, and she swears by it.

On my account: I took it during finals seasons after feeling insanely stressed all day long. I had been hashing away at academic papers and research the entire week. I was on my final push to get through my final paper of the exam ridden week. After running to my professor’s office at full speed to get my paper in on time, I could not shake the anxiety I felt. I took some of the CBD oil and immediately felt such a relief. I couldn’t believe how much it helped my anxiety. This is going to be my go-to method for stress relief. I’ve also taken it for menstrual cramps, and it’s been such a life changing experience! My pain tolerance is extremly low, so this is something I will always implement in my life.

CBD Facial Care

You may or may not know that the latest trend for facial care is oil-based washes. The idea behind oil-based facial cleansers is oil bonds better to oil than it does to soap, meaning that more grime, dirt and dead skin cells can be removed. If you wash with an oil-based cleanser, you can feel confident that the day’s dirt, grime and makeup has been successfully removed from your face.

Well, I thought, what better oil to try for this method besides CBD? It has a lot of perks that make it a good option as a face cleanser. For one, it helps to prevent extra oil production on your face (unlike other cleansers which dry your face out, requiring your skin to release more oil). Secondly, CBD has anti-inflammatory properties which can help prevent puffiness and red spots.

However, the number one reason I was interested in using CBD on my face is its
acne-prevention properties. CBD oil removes unwanted oil, dead skin cells and any other dirt that clogs your pores which ultimately cause breakouts.

To that end, I have found that the best way to wash your face with CBD oil is to mix a few drops of CBD into your normal daily cleanser. Just let a few drops fall to your fingertips and mix with your usual face wash. To be sure that all of the CBD and the grime it picked up are off of your face, use a soft washcloth to rinse. And of course, always use a toner afterwards to re-balance the pH of your skin.

It’s been a month now since I have followed this routine and have noticed that my skin looks brighter, healthier and most of all – no acne to speak of! I would really recommend adding CBD oil to your daily facial care routine as there are no unpleasant side effects and best of all, it works!

Ripple CBD Review

I worked at a Dispensary here in Colorado, called Tumbleweed. I worked there for over a year and got to see first hand how many customers would come in specifically for CBD and pain relief. There were many different kinds of products that our customers were able to chose from, but my favorite and best selling one was the Ripple Product which was by Still Water Brands. It was in a packet form, there were various different quantities to chose from and the coolest part of all is that you can add the powder to anything! I would always recommend to add to their drinks, water, coffee, ice cream, any food products, or even just plain. We carried the one with just .03% THC as well as with 5-10 MG of THC and CBD in each packet. My favorite ratio was the 1:1 (Balanced). It’s GMO Free, Sugar Free, Keto Friendly, Vegan and Gluten-Free. The product has no taste to it at all and is a perfect additive for anyone wanting to try CBD in a lower dosage and/or with THC.

Royal CBD Review

If you’re one of millions of Americans like me who have a hard time falling asleep, you may be interested to know that in some cases, CBD oil can help. As someone who usually relies on
prescription strength sleep aids, I thought I’d give CBD a shot at helping me get some shuteye.

I bought a bottle of Royal CBD’s 1000mg Full Spectrum CBD Oil from https://royalcbd.com/ . The product is touted as extra strength, so you don’t need to consume half the bottle in order to get the intended effects. I trusted the label and took one dropper full about an hour before bed.

Here’s what happened.

At no point did I feel myself become drowsy, like I would from a prescription sedative. The best way I would describe how I felt was relaxed and ready to try to fall asleep. As I lay in bed
feeling very awake, I did however notice that I was a lot less restless than I usually am when I am trying to fall asleep. It was a welcome respite from the stressed out tossing and turning that
usually goes on when I’m trying to get to dreamland.

Ultimately sleep came, and it came on easier because I was relaxed. I made it through the night without waking up as well. I can’t say for sure that it was the CBD oil that did the trick, but
I will most certainly be using it again. At the very least it made trying to fall asleep much, much less stressful.

Magu CBD Review

I’m a nervous person. I have been my whole life. There are many with similar issues who know that when you have anxiety, everybody seems to have their own (unasked for) opinion about what you should do to make yourself feel better. I’ve tried many prescriptions and over the counter remedies but without much luck. The latest substance on my quest to “chill out” was CBD oil. Here’s how it worked for me.

I purchased a bottle of Magu 10% from a local shop and gave it a try. At home I followed the directions which simply stated to consume one full dropper of oil. I chose to mix it with a glass of water to make it easier to swallow. And then I waited. And waited. Ultimately I did not end up feeling any different. But I thought it possible that because I wasn’t experiencing acute anxiety, that was the reason I didn’t find it generally helpful.

So I waited until a time where I had to review for a big final and my anxiety was through the roof. I grabbed my bottle of CBD oil and tried again. Still nothing. I ended up having to take an anti-anxiety medication my doctor gave me instead.

I will keep the oil and try it again sometime, but for the time being I am disappointed because, as I’m sure you know, a lot of people swear by this stuff. I guess it’s just not for me.

Mitzvah Herbal CBD Review

I am a high school athlete who suffers from a crippling generalized anxiety disorder. For as long as I can remember, I have dealt with chronic anxiety and panic attacks to the point where it severely affects my day to day life. It prevents me from doing things that I enjoy like going out with friends, and even from things that I need to do like going to school For as long as I can remember I have been in and out of therapy and have tried everything from SSRIs to meditation to help cope with my anxiety, however, nothing ever truly helped. I thought that my anxiety would remain completely uncontrollable and I almost gave up on ever trying to treat it, I had resided to the fact that I would be suffering from anxiety for the rest of my life. That is until a friend who runs a CBD company (Mitzvah Herbal) recommended me a tincture with a dose of 90mg per day. I was skeptical at first but after a few days, I began to notice that I was having significantly less common and severe anxiety attacks. CBD has improved my quality of life more than I can begin to explain, I can go out with friends, I can finally go to the store without needing to worry about having a panic attack! I would confidently recommend CBD to anyone who suffers from any form of anxiety.

The product is 500mg Good Day CBD + Terpenes Tincture

Sunsoil CBD Review

I am a strong believer in the medicinal qualities of CBD—as someone who suffers from chronic Lyme Disease, I experience a variety of symptoms day to day. From headaches and joint pain, to sleeplessness and insomnia, to anxiety, my illness is associated with symptoms that the run-of-the-mill, over-the-counter pain relievers (such as ibuprofen) can not address effectively. Traditional pain medications are also usually not a good solution for long-term pain management, as taking them regularly can be harmful and unhealthy. I realized that I needed a more natural, long-term solution to manage my symptoms, why is why I turned to CBD. After trying a variety of CBD oils and products, I realized that CBD was exactly what I needed. I take it before bed to help relax me, as well as whenever I am experiencing a headache or joint pain. For the most part, CBD helps sooth the pain I experience. I found it to not only be an effective way to manage symptoms, but also one that would be safe to use in the long term. Overall, CBD has enabled me to manage a chronic illness naturally, without having to turn to heavy medications to relieve my symptoms.

I only see two major downsides to CBD: cost and taste. Many people do not appreciate the taste of CBD—that was something I had to get used to. CBD is also costly, but I have found it to be worth the investment!

After trying multiple different CBD brands and products, I have found one that works best for me: SunSoil CBD Oil drops. Made out of Vermont, SunSoil produced pure CBD products from hemp. I specifically like their flavored drops. As I mentioned above, CBD does not taste amazing, but this brand includes natural flavoring that masks the hemp taste (the citrus is my favorite). I also like this brand because they use organic ingredients and have their oils tested and approved by independent labs for quality and purity. It is a highly potent brand (10mg CBD per 1 ml is a good potency compared to other products I’ve tried). Given this potency, it is more cost effective and affordable. Overall, it checks the boxes I am looking for in a CBD oil!

Colorado Hemp Solutions CBD Review

I just want to start off and say CBD has immensely changed a very special families life as well as mine. CBD is a Natural Medicine that can relieve pain, inflammation, ease, heart disease, skin issues such as acne, anxiety, seizures and Parkinson’s Disease. It’s so nice to know that such a natural remedy is truly changing lives around us one by one and honestly could be the best cure for a Cancer. I believe that this truly is a growing industry with so much potential and a steady growth market still yet to come. With time, I believe that CBD is going to change more lives than any other product on the market or out there. I have seen a boy with severe Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy be able to enjoy his life and not have any seizures some days because of CBD mixed with less than .03% THC.

The brand I specifically used and family have used is from Colorado Hemp Solutions. CHS it’s a local CBD Company here in Colorado. The product is Mercy 4000 MG of CBD, and it’s an ointment. The one most used for epilepsy and seizures is their soft gels and sublingual products.

CDB for Pets: What to Know

What is CBD?
CBD is short CBD cannabidiol. It is the one word that will always be part of anyone who wishes to learn more about any form of cannabis usage. It is an active compound extracted from the cannabis plant. They are chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant that interact with the endocannabinoid system that puts a physical body in homeostasis or in balance. Cannabis has become the new darling in natural holistic treatment for both humans and their pet counterparts.

At present, science has discovered that there are about 113 cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. We have created an infographic for the major cannabinoids and a CBD oil benefits list. This will be applicable in your knowledge for CBD for pets.

How Does CBD Work?
What is an endocannabinoid system (ECS)? It is a network of receptors that exist in the body that was discovered in the 90’s by researchers. CBD oil effects include regulating mood, appetite, pain, stress, inflammation and anxiety among other things. The ECS manages complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and all of the body’s organs.

Dogs just like us have similar ECS systems like humans and this is why pharmaceutical companies often use them as test subjects. This handy guide will help explain what CBD can do for your beloved pet. Keep in mind that the THC components in this guide are controversial for animal use.

Fun fact: Insects do not have an endocannabinoid system

There will be two types of product that can fall under the THC classification. For Bark Avenue Hemp Treat’s peanut butter dog treats recipe, we use an industrial hemp derived CBD oil. This is where the THC or psychoactive content is .03% or less per dry weight. In short, it is high in CBD but with trace amounts of THC. This does not cause any psychoactive effects on the animal. This type of oil is also known as a full spectrum oil. It has all the benefits of the whole plant known as the “Entourage Effect”, minus the high. Our tests register around little less than half of the .03% regulated threshold of THC and falls under industrial hemp.

The second type of product you can buy that is .03% greater in THC, will be found in dispensaries. You cannot purchase this type of product online or in stores other than licensed dispensaries. We caution this usage and highly recommend veterinary advice when treating an animal where there are intoxicating effects involved. We would cautiously recommend this, except for animals that are perhaps at the end of life care, and comfort is the main goal. We suggest you consult your vet.

How Much CBD Oil Should I Give My Dog?
This will largely depend on the age, condition and weight of your pet. Most importantly, you understanding your pet’s behavior best. For instance, seniors that are showing signs of arthritis in dogs, but otherwise is in good health. We at Bark Avenue Hemp Treats suggest to start with 1-2 mg of CBD per 10 pounds of dog, three times daily for a week. This begins to build up the levels in their system. If you notice he is feeling better, then you can give him a twice daily dosing session. If he is not doing as well as before, then you can go back to a three times daily routine. It is all a trial and error. This is why knowing your pet best is the key to finding the sweet spot for your pet.

Another scenario could be, you went on a long hike with your best friend the day before. Today you notice he is a bit achy and sore like we humans can often be after strenuous activity. Give him a CBD treat to help ease the pain.

As more and more researches have come out in favor of CBD, the veterinarians have finally agreed on some of the most basic uses of CBD oil. Even the FDA has approved a drug recently that is derived from CBD.

Available Dosing Formats of CBD for Dogs
For pets, CBD for pets is available in the form of pills, tinctures or oil, and infused in treats. While, treats infused with CBD may sound completely harmless, it is still good to consider the recommended dosages and recognize the possible side effects associated with CBD. Side effects associated with CBD are very rare but they still have been reported. Some warning signs include – disorientation, vomiting, drowsiness or excitement after ingesting CBD. If you notice any of these symptoms, it is always good to consult your trusted vet.

You will hear various form of CBD such as full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate. Typically, the hard chalky pills are made from isolate. From my personal experience, isolate is not as effective as the other two. This can be discussed in another article.

I give my dog several doses of CBD daily for her overall wellness. She is 9 with bright clear eyes, a nice spring in her step and people often mistake her for a 3-4 year old dog.

Tips for Buying CBD Online (Part 2)

The market for CBD was already booming and now more than ever with the current events of illness, market crashes, and threat of job loss.  It seems everyone has anxiety ready to burst forth like the creature from Alien. Or maybe it is more like the head exploding scene in the movie Scanners, no matter what horror or sci-fi movie you pick for a metaphor it fits our current events!

And let’s face it one of the main reasons people are buying CBD oil is for their nerves! Many folks know from experience that Cannabis has quite the relaxing effect, so they assume CBD will likely have a similar ability. In reality the science is behind the market and attempting to catch up, in the meantime it can be difficult navigating this new and curious product.

You may be lucky enough to have a major retailer located near you that sells CBD, but the chances are it will be very expensive. When it is hard to find locally or too pricey many may resort to buying it online. And this can be potentially problematic when it comes to service and trust. Here we will go over a few ideas to find high quality and honest CBD oil from online retailers.

Is it educational information or hype?

One of the fastest ways to judge any CBD company is what they tell you about their product. CBD is extracted from hemp plants, which are simply Cannabis plants with under 0.3% THC content. With such a low THC amount it is impossible for hemp to get you high, and that is the only reason it is now legal to grow and sell in the USA. Hemp may not have the chemical to get you stoned, but it does have plenty of CBD!

Unfortunately for many years and across many countries Cannabis has been illegal and has not really had that much legitimate research done on it. The simple fact is we do not know that much about CBD. You may buy it for anxiety, but it is not yet proven to help that! A legitimate company will not make outlandish health claims, they will educate you on the reality of CBD. Any online retailer who promises CBD oil will cure specific ailments; they should be reported not patronized.

Is the company accurate and honest?

As mentioned above it is important to take note of how a company sells its CBD oil. You want accuracy and honesty, and yes both are a little different in this case. You want a product to have specific lab results on the quantity of CBD included, especially so you know what dosage it is. However the same company cannot honestly tell you what dosages work because that would be making medical claims. Do you see the fine line?

Another important aspect of accuracy is whether the company is using pure CBD oil, or broad spectrum hemp extract. Cannabis has THC, CBD, and about a hundred other active chemicals; you likely don’t need the other cannabinoids. A reputable online CBD seller will sell only pure CBD oil.

Do they have THC in their product?

And not only do you want to avoid the other chemicals, you want to be sure the product has no THC in it. By legal standards it should be below that very low 0.3%, so it shouldn’t be a problem. However since some states have legal Cannabis now you want to make sure they are not selling products with THC. And this isn’t just because you could potentially get in trouble, it is the against the law. Mailing THC products is illegal and legitimate retailers will not get involved with that.

There is some research that shows THC may be necessary for the CBD to work properly. The jury is still out on that and until then you should only buy plain CBD oil from online retailers. https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/cannabidiol-cbd-what-we-know-and-what-we-dont-2018082414476

Does the site make it easy and safe to buy?

Beyond the pointers on CBD and Cannabis in general, there are also the usual tips on being a smart consumer. Does it feel safe to pay on the site, or does it scream identity theft? This is one reason to avoid the smaller and unknown sellers as they may not even have basic protections for your financial data. And even beyond money does the site feel safe for any info you are providing?

Another savvy consumer thought is do they also provide discrete and fast shipping? You may not want others to know you use CBD oil and that is fine, just make sure the company is safe to purchase from.

How is the customer service and reviews?

Regardless of the product you are buying always check the reviews of the company. That is one of the fastest ways to know if they are worth dealing with. And of course you will find bad reviews everywhere, people are known for complaining more than praising! The key is to read those negative reviews, if there are a ton of levelheaded yet angry customers, well find another place to buy your CBD oil from.

Do they offer any kind of assistance?

This is actually a pretty common aspect of the bigger CBD retailers. CBD is so expensive that some places offer assistance to veterans, those with disabilities, and lower income individuals. Not only should you apply for this help if possible, it is a sign of a reputable dealer when they have such helpful programs.

Can you really trust the large market sites?

So what is the verdict, should you buy CBD from an online retailer? If you follow the advice above and use common sense, there is every chance you will get a quality product. Stick with the most popular and known retailers first if you are extra jittery about your first purchase, places like Vitamin Shoppe and CVS. The chances of getting a validated CBD oil brand is higher at the best known stores. Just don’t stress yourself out too much! That’s what put you in this position in the first place! Do as much research as possible, message companies with any questions, and pay attention to what others are saying about said sellers. With a little patience and a deep breath you will find some high quality CBD oil!

CBD Buying Guide

Even a month ago this article would have started off with a mention about how big CBD business has become. We see signs from a multitude of local stores and of course our online world is teeming with ads, blogs, and the occasional genuine news article about this popular cannabinoid. However now with the shadow of COVID-19 across much of the world it is too be seen how much business will be affected.

In the meantime though during the throes of a pandemic, it is most likely that CBD oil and preparations are going to have incredible sales. With the sudden peak interest and fear of bad health, everyone the world over will do what they can to stay well. So whether you have already been curious about CBD or if the current situation has brought you here, let’s take a look at some tips and pointers on buying CBD!

What is CBD?

As we all know the Cannabis sativa plant has been used since ancient times for food, oil, rope, dye, and of course its intoxicating abilities. The chemical in the plant that gets you high is THC and that is only legal to grow and possess in a few states. In 2018 a new law was passed that allowed hemp to be grown and sold.

2018 Farm Bill

Now hemp is still the Cannabis or marijuana plant, the difference is that it legally has under 0.3% THC. According to the 2018 Farm Bill as long as these criteria were met, hemp could be used. And Cannabis has a lot of active chemicals, after THC the most popular is CBD. This cannabidiol (CBD) is very easy to extract making it a bit of a gold mine for growers. https://www.agriculture.senate.gov/2018-farm-bill

The Truth about CBD

There has always been a lot of hope for potential medical uses of Cannabis, but the fact is we have very few peer reviewed studies. So far, we know that CBD seems to work on a rare seizure disorder, and it has some other uses that seem promising. Otherwise any claim you see made about CBD is not entirely true and sometimes downright false. It is up to you as the consumer to have some healthy skepticism and to do your own research. https://ideas.ted.com/heres-the-truth-about-cbd-from-a-cannabis-researcher/

What are the different way people consume CBD?

Now there are different methods of prepping CBD oil to increase bioavailability, that alone could be its own article. But for now we are going to look at the main methods of ingestion for CBD oil without getting bogged down in specifics.

Whether the CBD oil is put in a capsule or baked into an edible, the oral route is the most common method of use. The main problem with the oral route for most medications is that during digestion certain enzymes can inhibit the amount of the drug actually getting to your brain. We also aren’t too sure yet whether or not it should or shouldn’t be taken with food. As the guinea pig it is up to what you feel works best.

This is placing a medicine underneath your tongue, so it dissolves into your bloodstream, bypassing the digestion. This method is often used for tinctures, and if they are made from alcohol it can burn! Normally a sublingual dose is much smaller than something swallowed as you theoretically should need less with better bioavailability.

While this is a common method it is easy to have ones doubts because for the most part CBD and THC are not absorbed into the bloodstream from the skin. Only when they are mixed with other chemicals to create transdermal patches are they then made bioavailable. That’s not to say CBD has no effects for being rubbed on the skin. It may very well have multiple positive topical uses, but it likely won’t help anxiety from just using a normal lotion.

This is a tough one, because it’s obvious for years that Cannabis is mostly smoked and that’s one of the best ways to get the effects. There is every chance that CBD does the most good when smoked and inhaled. Unfortunately that may not be the safest method, especially with modern vaping. It is very common to see people vaping CBD. Don’t forget that vaping isn’t vapor, it is an aerosol of a burnt oil (the CBD oil and whatever it is mixed with as a carrier). And chemically speaking putting aerosol in your lungs is likely not a good long term decision. https://www.yalemedicine.org/stories/teen-vaping/

As unsavory as this one is, it is a great way to increase bioavailability, even better than sublingual or oral. Just be sure that a reputable company is making this form as you want to be certain that even the inactive ingredients are safe to put where they are going! At many Cannabis and THC stores in legal states you see suppositories gaining in popularity, perhaps it will be more common in CBD soon.

What should I look for when buying?

This is not the easiest advice to give in this situation. If you have an FDA approved drug like acetaminophen you can easily look for a store that carries the recommended dosages that science and physicians have figured out. In the case of CBD none of this exists, in fact in some studies the dosages of CBD used is much higher than normal! https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6710502/

And besides not having the info it is also illegal to make any claims about dosages or outcomes with any unapproved food or drug. When giving advice on buying CBD unfortunately it involves a lot of common sense and a keen eye to spot scammers. Look out for these main tips when you finally take the plunge to buy your own CBD oil.

Is the seller being honest?

This is one of the biggest factors. Remember there is no solid science behind much of this, it will be easy to tell who is honest and who is just making outlandish claims. It’s one thing for a seller and grower of hemp to be excited about potential benefits, it’s totally different to make up lies. If a business is telling you their CBD will cure cancer, its best to find another company.

What kind of oil is it?

Another very important factor! Some oils are broad spectrum cannabis extracts, this means other active chemicals in the Cannabis plant are present. All you want is pure extracted CBD oil. Make sure it specifically states what kind of oil it is.

What are the doses?

While science may not know the specific doses required, any company should be exactly aware of how much CBD is in their preparations. Basically any company that is very vague about there product shouldn’t be used. The more specifics the likelier the product will be superior.

Is there THC in it?

Especially if you live in a state that allows for legal adult use of Cannabis you want to make sure your preparation of CBD is completely THC free. That way you won’t have to worry about side effects or legal problems

Are there lab results?

Often reputable companies will post specific lab results for their products, in fact most companies do this now. Sometimes it can be fraudulent, so you have to do your best to discern what is real. Often true lab results can be traced online to exact dates and times. As the market grows expect the better companies to have proven results of the best CBD preparation.

Conclusion In these current times of anxiety and near panic it can seem natural to want to find an organic and natural method to ease stress and boost health. We have no idea what the future of CBD and Cannabis may hold but, in the meantime,  we are hopeful that it will be a beneficial and useful compound for a variety of ailments. And until the science catches up it is our responsibility to make educated and informed decisions when buying CBD and any dietary supplement for that matter.

Tips for Buying CBD Online

As a writer it is always nice to work on topics that are suited to my interests; two in particular being Cannabis and music. And I mention music because it has a lot of similar issues as the CBD market, most notably a lack of real experts and any sort of industry standard when buying online!

Imagine you are complete beginner with music, and you decide to buy a new instrument like a guitar. You will be shocked to find they come in almost all price ranges and a bazillion companies make them. Even reputable companies that you may have heard of before are constantly being counterfeited. Any deals too good to be true likely are, and if you aren’t careful you can get an unplayable piece of junk!

It is clearly stressful and can make you just want to throw your hands in the air and buy whatever and hope it works out! However we don’t want you to make that decision with any product. The bad news with CBD is that these problems do exist, the good news is with some savvy consumer skills you will have all the better chance of buying quality CBD oil!

The Truth About CBD

Before you purchase any CBD oil it is important to know the reality of the situation. CBD was just made “legal” in 2018, the word being in quotes because the USA has a myriad of conflicting state and federal laws that can’t make their mind up on Cannabis. As long as the plant contains less than 0.3% of THC it is now legal to grow and harvest. And the most valuable chemical to harvest after THC is the cannabinoid CBD. https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/cannabidiol-cbd-what-we-know-and-what-we-dont-2018082414476

Despite this legal paradox you the consumer should have no trouble purchasing CBD. It has exploded across the markets both online and even in brick and mortar stores. There is so much out there it actually takes a little research on what to buy and from which company. At the end of the day the CBD oil market is in a Wild West situation where anything goes. Tread carefully!

Tips for Buying CBD

Why Are You Buying CBD?

This may seem so silly and obvious, but really it is the most important question. If you are buying CBD for help with daily anxiety, well you stand a better chance of finding a product that might help. If your pet has a major disease and this is a last ditch effort to save them, well that is a much bigger problem that you are not prepared for.

And that’s not to say CBD oil may not be good for animals or people with major problems, the point is are you willing to jump into something so heavy without proper research? Simply put if you are buying CBD oil as a medical miracle, you are likely to be very disappointed in any product and dosage. We are all new members in this CBD club, let’s keep things simple to start with.

CBD has very little peer reviewed research, that is a fact. Anecdotal evidence and personal stories are not enough to make health claims, and in fact can be very wrong at times (look at all the anecdotal hype against vaccines). Any decent business selling CBD will be honest with the facts and low on the hype.

Yes, it is a fine line to balance. As a writer I am here to inform you as much as possible about CBD. Many of us in the industry have great hopes for the medical value of CBD and Cannabis in general, and a little hype is ok as it is finally legal, exciting, and new. However we will also be the first to tell you that we are not making any health claims and that any medical discussions should be with your doctor. If you don’t find this level of honesty in a CBD seller, avoid them!

FDA Warning Letters

One simple way to filter out the bad CBD dealers is to read which companies have received warning letters from the FDA. https://www.fda.gov/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations/warning-letters/koi-cbd-llc-593391-11222019 Now for those who may think the FDA is the enemy, keep in mind they warn some companies about very shady behavior. When you buy CBD you want to be sure that it is pure oil and not a mixture of hemp extract cannabinoids. While every CBD product will claim the highest quality its helpful to know the ones that are not being honest.

What Does the Label Say?

A common problem with both CBD and THC products is packaging that sure looks real, but for a fake product. Last fall during the vaping health epidemic many of the culprits were counterfeit THC cartridges. For the most part they come in pretty solid and legal looking packages… or do they? https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/basic_information/e-cigarettes/severe-lung-disease.html

A legitimate product is likely to have lab results on the side, where it was made, and often even QR codes (these allow you to check that the product actually has been tested). Another pointer for labels is avoid those that have flashy packaging. A medicine is sold in a discreetly and professionally labeled package, a toy or counterfeit product is sold with flash and pizzazz!

Learn to Read Lab Results

Many reputable companies will not only show lab test results, but also how to read them. They will break down the difference in pure CBD and just various cannabinoid compounds. This will certainly be helpful in knowing more about the specifics of the pill or method you are ingesting.

But also don’t forget that until more science comes along these lab results, dosages, and methods of ingesting have very little meaning. There is no uniformly agreed on CBD dose and how you take it may make a big difference. I have my concerns about vaping and any potential health effects, but it may be the best way to use CBD. Right now we simply don’t know.

Consider THC Levels

Remember there are multiple chemicals in the Cannabis plant that may be of use, the most popular are CBD and THC. If you live in a state where Cannabis is legal you will want to be sure your CBD oil is THC free. If you are ordering online this is likely no problem. And if someone is trying to ship something with THC then you definitely should avoid that company and any legal peril coming its way.

Reviews and Feedback

And of course one universal tip for buying anything, does the company have good reviews? Do they have decent interactions with customers, happy experiences, maybe even good return policies? Some very basic social media and Google research should quickly give you an idea of whether the company may be selling a quality CBD oil product.

So there are some basic tips on buying CBD oil online, as you research more you will find many other good ideas. https://www.consumerreports.org/cbd/how-to-shop-for-cbd/ If you are to the point where you are ready to look and buy, make sure the first person you talk to is your doctor. Even if they are still in the learning process you will at least know you are getting info that isn’t backed by sales. With a professional opinion and some common sense you will be ready to find the best CBD oil for your circumstances!

The Truth about CBD – Is the CBD Hype Dangerous?

Around the turn of the century there weren’t that many people who likely knew what CBD was, save for the occasional science savvy pothead. But as medical and eventually legal Cannabis began to spread across the states so did the awareness of cannabidiol (CBD). However it was always mentioned in conjunction with the more popular Cannabis compound THC.

The Cannabis sativa plant produces around 100 bioactive compounds, but it is the THC that is responsible for its historic and worldwide popularity. The THC is responsible for the “high” users feel and most of the well-known effects. While THC and all Cannabis compounds are still in need of further study, potential signs point to pain control, anxiety reduction, appetite stimulation, and more. (https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/medical-marijuana-2018011513085)

There is so little research due to all the years of Cannabis being such a tightly controlled substance, but this changed overnight with the 2018 Farm Bill. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemp_Farming_Act_of_2018) Farmers could now legally grow hemp and researchers could get easier access to the other chemicals compounds of Cannabis like CBD. Hemp is Cannabis that has under 0.3 % THC content, meaning no one can use it in any shape or form to get a buzz from. For the most part farmers are able to control this low percentage, but occasionally problems do occur. (https://www.cannabisindustrylawyer.com/what-to-do-when-your-hemp-tests-hot/)

While it is great that research into CBD was suddenly possible (or at least easier), more farmers were growing it to cash in on the most recent dietary supplement craze. Overnight CBD was suddenly everywhere; in food, lotions, soaps, vapes, pet meds, and anything you can imagine! It is growing into a billion dollar industry on a potential mountain of false claims. (https://www.forbes.com/sites/irisdorbian/2019/05/20/cbd-market-could-reach-20-billion-by-2024-says-new-study/#16b6046949d0)

Many businesses selling CBD have jumped the gun on any legitimate studies and decided that they can pick and choose which miraculous cures it may have. In the world of dietary supplements the FDA makes it very clear that a seller cannot claim a drug prevents, mitigates, treats, or cures any disease. If a chemical has not been approved by the FDA, then it will always be stuck in this legal gray area. And unfortunately many people are willing to jump into this legal limbo to part you with your dollars as you wash away your woes with their CBD! (https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-warns-15-companies-illegally-selling-various-products-containing-cannabidiol-agency-details)

Now there are some legitimate uses for CBD, it is not complete snake oil. In 2017 CBD was found to help treat drug resistant seizure disorders in children. (https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1611618) There are also some early studies that show it may help with anxiety, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, and opioid addiction. However these studies use massive doses of CBD, not the tiny dosages sold in most edible CBD products. The simple fact is we just haven’t had the time to do much proper peer reviewed research into cannabidiol. (https://ideas.ted.com/heres-the-truth-about-cbd-from-a-cannabis-researcher/)

And because we do not know that much about CBD yet, it makes it easy for the market to just simply fill in the blanks for the consumer. With a great design and hyped up graphic they can attract your attention and make you think they know something that you don’t! These new CBD companies also love to tell you the purity of their product from locally grown hemp. No doubt the product you bought is organic and full of laboratory tested CBD! However, we still have very little evidence that the CBD will have any legitimate effect on you at all!

Another aspect most CBD sellers stress is the complete lack of any THC in their product. This of course makes sense as that would make their product illegal and they could go to jail! Plus many consumers may be afraid of work related drug tests and be afraid of ingesting THC. The irony here is that CBD may not really be as effective without its chemical cousin THC. For the compound to have any use it may need to be in conjunction with other cannabinoids, we just don’t know yet.

All of these variables make it clear it is wise to take a step back and proceed with caution when it comes to CBD. Especially since some people are using it on pets and even children. It’s one thing to risk using a dietary supplement on yourself but using another as a lab rat is never a good idea! The simple fact is that the FDA has not approved CBD and still needs to do more research on that and Cannabis in general. If you or someone you know is thinking of using CBD, make sure first to educate yourselves with as many studies as possible. (https://www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/what-you-need-know-and-what-were-working-find-out-about-products-containing-cannabis-or-cannabis)

It still may be tempting to try CBD given the long history we have had in this country about changing our perspectives on various chemicals. Cigarettes used to be healthy and marijuana a dangerous addiction. Now we are finding that tobacco is a public health nightmare and maybe Cannabis has some great potential uses. Maybe you feel that CBD has such potential why let any time go to waste? Well in that case approach it with common sense.

Whether it is CBD, THC, or any compound or medicine for sale, keep an eye on what is being claimed. For example you will see outlandish statements about Cannabis curing cancer, which is not true! If it seems too good to be true, it always is. If anything CBD may help problems like anxiety and stress, those have potential. Of all the uses claimed by some CBD sellers it should be pretty obvious to pick out the absurdities vs the maybes. And it all matters whether or not you are safe with a maybe. Until CBD is studied further by the FDA and other health organizations, we simply will not know what the real uses are. In this day in age it is really easy to get caught up in the excitement, one may be tempted to jump on the bandwagon and try CBD for a variety of ailments. Just remember until more research is done you may be putting you or a loved one at risk. Be careful!
